That long overdue Singapore post - Day 1

I was going to blog about that long overdue Nepal post when I remembered I haven't even posted about the Singapore trip early this year. Not that I owe it to anyone, but I just want to document every significant travel, shoot, breakthrough, epiphany (none this year yet though), etc. for future reference. So now I'm dispensing with this first before I finally move on to the Nepal trip. :P

home alone on a friday night

This is a rarity. :P I'm usually the last one to arrive home, but tonight, I'm stuck here while my whole family went out to see Kung Fu Panda 2 (which I've been wanting to see since it came out yesterday. Because I'm a little girl like that). Two days ago, I had an impacted tooth extracted. It didn't hurt as bad as I expected (although it does still hurt, especially right after the anesthesia wore off), but I do feel uncomfortable about it and it sucks having to cover half of my face with my hair to conceal the swollen cheek every time I have to go out. So I'd just rather stay at home than be hassled by my swollen cheek. I didn't think my face could get bigger but apparently, it still could. Now I look like a chipmunk. Or half a chipmunk. Or my 10 year old self with the mumps. I haven't had a decent meal in two days since it's quite painful to eat solids. I've been living on noodle soup and oats these days. I can't run or do any strenuous physical activity though. So I hope it all cancels out. :P

Yesterday's Run and the End of the World

The world didn't end yesterday, as predicted. It's shocking, and sad, knowing how a lot of people actually held on to the belief that the rapture would happen yesterday; I read people quit jobs, left their families, spent their savings all because they thought the world was ending. Yes, people are still misinformed about the end times. While no one knows for sure how things will be when judgment day comes (no matter how much you study the book of Revelation, so many questions will still be left unanswered), we must be comforted with what the Bible says - judgment day wouldn't come until everyone on earth hears the gospel.

Anyway, yesterday was my niece, Sophia's 8th birthday, and here's a short photo slideshow I made for her:

Zamboanga, Days 2 and 3

One of the many perks of being a photographer is getting to travel (on all-expense paid trips) to different places, sometimes, places you wouldn't even consider visiting. As I mentioned in my last entry, I got to visit Zamboanga for the first time last weekend when we covered a wedding for Imagine Nation. I don't know what places to visit in Zamboanga particularly, so I consulted my good friend Chi about it who recommended the restos, Alavar and Palmeras. We ate there at the Paseo Del Mar strip on Saturday night, after the Muslim ceremony.

First Time in Zamboanga

star sighting at the airport. wahaha

Tonight, I'm blogging from the city of Zamboanga for a wedding shoot. This is the second to the last shoot I have as a photographer of Imagine Nation Photography. This is also the first time I'm shooting a wedding outside of Luzon. The farthest I've gone before this is Baguio. Next month, I'll be shooting in Boracay, also for Imagine Nation. That's the last shoot I have thus far, and I'm not really sure what I'm going to do after.

Dinner with Lexi and the Mongies

LIA_3039

A few days ago, one of our high school friends, Erika, messaged us on Facebook, organizing a dinner get-together since she was coming home from Singapore this weekend. It was nice to see my high school friends on my birthday weekend (even if it wasn't technically my birthday celebration. Hehe) Jade brought along my cutest little inaanak, Lexi.

On Running, Zorro, Endomondo, and Murakami

Today, I ran for the third consecutive time this week after an almost week-long hiatus. Surprisingly, I'm really enjoying running that I hardly see it as an obligation. It's fun, it hardly costs me anything, and I don't need to invite a bunch of other people to do it. Some would prefer running with a partner or a group, but I'm ok with it being a solitary activity. Finding a group would be nice, but I wouldn't want to become too dependent on one that I won't go running when I'm alone. Besides, running by myself gives me time to think about things and allows me to go on my own without adjusting my schedule for anyone else.
